I think the mentality behind the E.U is so much up in the air at the moment no one knows what it stands for hence the remarks like murtaza.
The E.U is on the verge of growing up, i think, but we have to wait and see what it plans to turn into, will it be like the u.s, one army one goverment or keep going the way it is going. |

| I think it's more likely that it will shift away from deepening and just attempt to consolidate. Once the budget debate has been addressed, it will all flow from there. It's ridiculous that 50% of the EUs core budget is still spent on agricultural subsidies. For once I agree with Phoney Tony that it's about time the EU had a root-and-branch reform. |

Far from it, I mean the 'deepening' project will come to a conclusion and it will remain a Union of shared sovereignty in some areas, but with the nation-states having the call through the Council. I can't see a superstate evolving any time soon. |

| You see i think the 'super state' as you named it is probably the best thing for it to evolve into hence membership candidates like Turkey would know where it stands and would understand that membership meant something like 'all for one and one for all' hence it would either go the full hog or just go away. |

I dont think so, as Turkey, Russia is also an asian country.
And They will have more and more influence than Turkey. |

another thing i was wondering.
is it true that the TUrks of Asia Minor and big cities such as Istanbul are "xenophobic" towards the Turks of deep Anatolial; do they see them as different people that they would rather not have in their country? |
