just got back from our wedding in limassol

Postby presty1967 » Tue Jul 12, 2005 11:13 am

Hi all we have just got back from Limassol after having an absolutely fabulous wedding at Ayios Athanosis (a beautiful setting) and a blessing at the four seasons hotel, which we incorporated in our weeks holiday.

We had originally booked our package with Argo holidays last year. They had organised the flowers, car, photos / dvd, and ceremonies when we arrived in the resort we wanted some extra special touches for our day.

Fortunately for us we had met Evelyn from Cyprus4weddings.com by email a few months earlier. Evelyn was absolutely fantastic she booked my hair and make up with two lovely ladies called clare and christine who made me feel a million dollars! She also recommended and booked a fabulous restaurant called Alourgida for a meal on our wedding night - they even do a special wedding menu- food was out of this world.

The final finishing touch that evelyn organised for us was a piper. This really did put the "icing on the cake" for our day. The bagpipes were the backing music for our dvd and myself being a scot made it extra special and can say did bring a few tears to our eyes!

We were over in cyprus on our own to get married and were very apprehensive and nervous in case anything went wrong but we neednt have worried. All thanks to evelyn our day was "made in heaven" My husband asked evelyn to walk me down the aisle as he knew how much it would mean to me as evelyn had been a rock to me in the days running up to the wedding and we had only just met her when we arrived in the resort - I dont know what I would have done without her. She was brilliant even though I was a bit of a wreck on the day!

We would like to say that any couples going to cyprus on their own to get married like us can be rest assured you will be looked after especially if you have evelyn as your wedding co ordinator.

We would strongly recommend that anyone planning to get married in cyprus should contact evelyn before making any arrangements for their big day she can organise anything and make your day extra special and one to remember like she did ours.

Good luck to any future brides and grooms and hope you had a wonderful time like we did.

Anyone wanting any info or pictures do not hesitate to contact us.

Congratulations folks, I got married in Cyprus last September and it was similarly awesome, just involved millions of relatives and lots of Orthodox mumbo-jumbo!

Bro', is your phrase 'may you age together' a Turkish congratulation? Sounds a bit like the Chinese phrase 'May you live in interesting times'

Yes it is.

We also have one for when a couple first have a child and we say "may he/she grow up with a mum and dad.

Loses a bit in translation but mean a very warm and affectionate congratulation.

 Thanks Bro', it does somewhat lose its warmth in translation. Nonetheless, I'm sure all members of the forum send their congratulations to Phil and Jacquie.

I don't think it is. Spammers do not waste so much time just to make one spam post.

Congratulations and best wishes for the future.
