take it on the chin the old cypriots do not want to share the recipe with us. |
Please notice that I ignored the comment 'take it on the chin'... no references to Main_Source or anything...
Anyway, not wishing to be banned for going off thread, I think the elderly Cypriot cabal that hold this recipe hostage need to be exposed. I'm going to write a letter to the Cyprus Mail demanding the recipe, or one of the old dears knitting machines gets it.
That should get the old ladies of Lefkara worried anyway. One of then might break and spill the beans. |

As you can see from this scan of rotate's skull, the damage to his teeth is irreparable...

ok, I asked a friend and he asked his mum, so I don not guarantee anything here:
(writing exactly what I'm being sent, no translation, nothing)
<quote:>
1 cup of butter
half cup of sugar powder
3 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of brandy
1 egg red
1 teaspoon Royal baking powder
Mix the butter in a blender and add sugar. Then add the egg and brandy and keep blending. Mix together the baking powder and the flour and add. If needed add flour. Make small balls and bake them at 177 c for 25 min. Poor some white sugar powder on top. If you want you can put some almonds in it.
<end quote>
Doesn't look like something special. Is it what you were looking for Pete? |
