ok, I asked a friend and he asked his mum, so I don not guarantee anything here:
(writing exactly what I'm being sent, no translation, nothing)
<quote:>
1 cup of butter
half cup of sugar powder
3 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of brandy
1 egg red
1 teaspoon Royal baking powder
Mix the butter in a blender and add sugar. Then add the egg and brandy and keep blending. Mix together the baking powder and the flour and add. If needed add flour. Make small balls and bake them at 177 c for 25 min. Poor some white sugar powder on top. If you want you can put some almonds in it.
<end quote>
Doesn't look like something special. Is it what you were looking for Pete? |
Thanks City.

I asked the same question about the egg.
I just left the expression in the recipe to see how people react.
Thats obviously how mum calls the yellow of the egg. Maybe the chickens in her village have eggs with red egg yolks.
re. the butter it might depend on how many pieces of Pastitsio you want to make, no? I honestly have no idea. I would start off with the buter and later on then as suggested add some more flour if needed. If too much more flour is needed I'm afraid it was too much butter then. But you can always increase the other ingredients as well. Just I have no clue with how much of the final product you then will come out....
And most definitely I would not use a coffe mug as "cup".
Have fun and success and yes please I would like to be informed about the results. As I also promised a reply to the friendly donator of the recipe. |
