"German advisers were sent to Spain, Turkey, and Finland, and organized arms production there for the regimes of Prime de Rivera, Kemal Ataturk, and Mannerheim. Shipping companies were formed under flags of convenience to serve naval rearmament (5, 23). Submarines were also made in Holland, according to Raeder's testimony at Nuremberg. The German government used neutral banks to lend government funds to its own industries, as in the case of a loan to Krupp's via Holland (20). Austrian industry collaborated both with German and with Swiss (Solothurn) and Dutch interests to continue illegal arms production."

Shame on EU:

If it wasn't for the US and Turkey all you people would be speaking either German or Russian.

speaking german ? how so? werent Turkey and Germany allies in WW2?

also communim was not a war you idiot. it was a politicial fiasco that would have led countries to be poor not speaking russian. and Turkey was the buffer zone between russia and the middle east.

if you are under the impression that it is turkey that prevented communism from srpeading to greece at least (not sure of cypriot history) you are WIDELY mistaken. are you aware of the greek civil war post WWII/ maybe then you can inform me on turkeys participation?

Dear Che wanna-be radical pinko liberal,

Turkey may not have participated in WW2 but we bravely contributed in the Korean War against communism. Go read up on it! The Turkish Brigade. Second largest contingency after the US and kept the 9th US Army from being completely encircled and destroyed. Where the hell do you come up with the idea that Turkey was Germany's ally in WW2? Winston Churchill was kissing Ismet Inonu's arse hoping to get Turkey into the war against the Germans until the very last days. WW1 yes.

As far as communism is concerned this was a cold war. So a war.

i know my one liners are one of a kind but maybe you should come up with your own m8 (or you say y'all in texas?)

again you still did not explain to me how turkey prevented greece and cyprus from being communist?

and also the reason why it is a COLD war is because it is not a REAL war.

People in this forum really think people in Turkey are so desparate to go into EU. That is just not right, I mean the politicians may be but not the people!! We go in then it's ok, if we don't too bad! Every country who is a candidate for EU membership is supposed to be treated equally, I can't see that happening at the moment!!

Exactly, the Germans are pandering to you, and the Austrians, The French and the rest of Europe aren't having it.

Sorry, come back when you understand the word 'civilization' and 'minority rights'.

UK Digenis, you forgot about the UK!! Anyway I really don't give a shit if we go in or not...

i think we shouldnt trust to UK they can leave in the lurch us. in my opinion EU wont take T urkey to EU. if we will make all conditions, they wont take us too. but we should draw our road ourselves. west dont see us thet we are from west. our future will be with east like in history. but we should develop ecomomic and cultural relation with west. but we wont never give our future to west.

You should care, If we enter EU, It will give a lot political and economical power.
Army is not everything. If price is acceptable, we should enter. But we should sure, we will enter EU, before paying price.

my dear friend and brother we dont say we shouldnt enter EU. but if we want and make all conditions, they dont take us to EU. i want to enter too but look our history they everytime play both ends against the middle. ok?

and u say army is not everything. i dont approve u for ur this opinion.
yes army is everything. if we dont have strong army we and our country can not be alive at middle-east. why EU want to turkey that draw ur army back from cyprus? they will play same game at cyprus like girit(kriti). first time draw back army and cyprus army will get strong by greek army after rekill cyprus turks.
