Unfortunately must agree :(

Well Napa is still buzzin..., not as much as its golden days but there's still a crowd there....

Limassol is all but dead tourism-wise.... at least for the younger generations. Still some walking around but compared to what it used to be like its empty..... not a tourist to be seen in the "tourist area".... Huge shame :(

Maybe if they stopped completely ripping tourists off (have you seen the insane prices these people are charging?) and harassing them on the streets they might decide to come back....., until then, cheaper and less hassle destinations abound around here

TAKING THE SOUL OUT OF LIMASSOL!!!!

Postby MISSLONDONCY » Thu Jul 28, 2005 2:23 pm

tcklim - how right are you! Limassol used to be good back in the days when tycoons, cheers, miss money pennys used to be buzzing, when drinks were affordable and people had less attitude. Now there is no decent places to go for a drink without getting hassled, pushed and ripped off! Rumours used to tacky, but u knew what u was getting, it was old and grotty, but at least u got good music in there and a good english-cypriot crowd in there, but now its been torn down and turned into a swanky bar, full of red neck chavs and pontsy cypriots, can you believe they even have an air head on the door turfing people away - I MEAN WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO!!!

When it comes to the tourist area I think Rumours is the best place to be, the DJ is the same one so the quality of music is still brilliant and the reason they ripped it down was because of the new EU rules and the old Rumours was far from being given permission.

As for the rest of Limassol the night life has changed and the varity of places to go is much bigger then just the tourist area. Before all the Cypriots went there cos there was no were else to go but now the choice is must bigger and they have spread out.
I dont know your ages but there are some brilliant bars to go to now.

Postby MISSLONDONCY » Thu Jul 28, 2005 4:32 pm

You telling me rumours is better then what it was? Yeah the decor is far nicer, doesnt mean its better then how it was last summer. Name me a few bars worth checking out, that doesnt have your average shallow cypriot?

Chesters n mollies is alrite, btw anyone going to the Limassol Beer Festival? I dunno... i prefer the annuel chesters one, the vibe is far more better!

Heard the same thing about Napa this year...My mate did a set in Castle's and said Napa is full of Chav's and typical English blokes this year.

As for music in Cyprus in general...well i've never heard brilliant music...unless commercial rnb and rap satisifies you.

You've just said the decor is better!!!! Everything else is the same, the owners, the dj, the MC........................??????????????

Name me a few bars worth checking out, that doesnt have your average shallow cypriot?

Like I said before depends on your age!! Have you been to Waves, Draught, Graffiti?????

Chesters n mollies is alrite,

btw anyone going to the Limassol Beer Festival? I dunno... i prefer the annuel chesters one, the vibe is far more better!

Yeah rumours still generates the same old losers - hehehe
My point is, now they have done it up its become more pontsy, with more englezous and more shallow cyps.

Graffiti is cool, its more of a chill out place though, you aint gonna go there to shake your booty are ya?

In general all of the places down the Carob Mill are quite smart, its great the way built up that area down there.

My point is, if you wanna go somewhere to listen to decent music and have a bit of a dance, places r really limited, I mean you aint gonna wanna go to PRE-VILLAGE - OR THE PRIVE to listen abit of ragga or rnb?

My age? im in my mid 20's, slowly creeping towards 30 arghghhhhh!!! and u?
