Paphos General Info Please

Postby smifffffy » Fri Aug 20, 2010 5:33 pm

We (2 adults 2 kids 14 12) will be coming to Paphos end of june 2011 for 2 weeks staying in the Peyia area & was just wondering is there a local newsletter we can sign up to so we can find out what is going on & what to do.Also are there any bugs that we have to look out for.
All help welcomed, kind regards Andy.

Forgot to say we will be hiring a car for the 2 weeks just don`t know from where yet.
Cheers. :D

Only bugs you need to worry about are mosquitos. Buy a plug-in device for your accommodation and some "elephant" spray for going out. Mozzies are peculiar things -they either take a shine to you or they don't. If they do - it's not pleasant.

I'd strongly recommend a trip to the Troodos Mountains. Plenty of organised trips either coach or jeep safari. I recommend the latter.

Also, a trip out to Polis and Latchi. Polis has a great little square with plenty of tavernas and bars.

Cyprus Living is a useful place to pick up info - I liked Miltiades' "advanced years" reference, but they can be helpful. Worth signing up and asking for advice there.

One last thing- avoid the scratchcared sellers at Pafos harbour - TIMESHARE!!!!!

Enjoy!

Hello smiffffffffffy! :D

You can check out the "Polis and Latchi Magazine" online:

http://www.polisandlatchi.com/magazine/index.php

These places are slightly further north than Peyia but definitely worth a visit along with Pomos Bay.
