Do you mean that 'triple' is expensive? It's not comparable at all: Slopes that are 300 meter must be more or less just as "fun" as those inside that mall in Dubai. Neither has anything to do with alpine skiing.

The longest drop in Australia is 672m and you pay 3.5 times to ski. Although we are not talking a Northern European resort, Olympus has a capacity to match 670m easily. Don't forget that there is bugger all snow making in Olympus either.Olympus has a height (& reverse position on the globe) making it roughly proportionate to Thredbo/Perisher so it can hold snow its just a matter of not enough snowmaking and infrastructure. Offpiste there is enough there to make it worthwhile. You also don't have to traverse as much as say Perisher. Buck for Buck Olympus is a bargain if you go mid Feb to early March.

Lets do this another way
Vertical drop versus price of lift passes:

The Remarkables 380m-$89
Perisher 360m - $102
Cardronna- 428m $89
Mt Hotham - 395m -$102
Mt Olympus-300m- Cyprus-$32

Having capacity & actually having in place are two completely different things.
By your own figures "Mt Olympus-300m".
If Mt Olympus were to add 370m drop & snow making (needed for the extra 370m) would the price remain the same as it is now. I think not.
When you compare prices you are not comparing similar products.
How about adding the amount of different runs available (generally open) at each resort into the equation?
You are comparing apples to oranges.
They may both ski resorts but that's where the similarity ends.

Two problems with your business plan.

1: I don't believe the climate would allow for a long enough season to pay back the investment. Snow making equipment still requires cold weather. Only helps build a deeper base of snow. A very large amount of $'s would be required to upgrade the slopes & even more for the infrastructure required to make Mt Olympus a go to destination for the worldwide skiing crowd.

2:If I had that kind of money I wouldn't be working the midnight shift in an auto parts manufacturing factory.

Don't get me wrong, SKI-preo - i would really liked it if the place was somewhere to go. But according to what you posted yourself, in your own thread a few months ago
http://www.cyprus-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=27453
the place is close to a disaster:

SKI-preo & Jimmy from Cyprus wrote:The "rental shop" is ready to collapse // leaking // broken muddy // exactly as it was a few decades ago.
The equipment can get you killed.
The road leading to Sun valley 1 is a death trap // basically an ice skating ring.
The lifts are archaic.
The slopes are even worse // too small.
Half of the T-bars are broken off within a couple of weeks of operation of the lifts and no one replaces them.
Half the time, only 1 of the 4 lifts are operated.
They bought canons a few years ago and they do not even use them.

Until I read this I would gladly have tried going there, but you convinced me that it would only be an annoying and hazardious waste of time.

What made you think so positively after all - someone threatened to sue you after posting the above?
