Should Turkey Join the EU??

Postby demetriou_74 » Tue Aug 09, 2005 1:52 pm

i think they should not join the EU nor anybody else. the recent countries to join are becoming a financial burden to the richer states. and most of the new countries think joining the EU was not worth it. Cyprus has become unbelievably expensive.

the EU is going to make the world into 3 huge states. America, EU, China with other countries being abused and exploited.

Like somebody else said before. The way the EU keeps moving the goal posts it's not looking good for Turkey. In addition the prices in Turkey are increasing at an alarming rate. This is especially true with real estate. Historically we saw high real estate prices in Istanbul but not on southeastern Med. coast.

My wife is there now and she's complaining that the prices are outrageous. Demetre may be correct.

turkey is largely undeveloped. just like cyprus it will face high prices and locals will feel the force. the days of daddy giving you a house to live in are over. most people are selling 'spare' fields just to pay off the mortgage.
