Bus from Kakopetria to Limassol?

Postby nztraveller » Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:25 pm

Does a bus connection exist between Kakopetria and Limassol?

It looks like there is one from Troodos to Limassol at 1530(P.E.A.L), are there any options to get from Kakopetria to Limassol?

Would I be able to get a taxi and what would the approximate cost be?

Thanks

Here' another quickish reply mate...

In the last couple of years there have been major upgrades to the bus services linking the major cities/coastal resorts in CY, but Kakopetria is off that map.

Taxi from LCA to the village ... gosh!... It's quite a way so It'll be pricey, be surprised if it were less than 100 euros.

To be honest, and have holidayed in CY many, many times... and know it's not the best environmental option but it's difficult to do CY without hiring a car. Car hire prices are pretty decent, a smallish saloon for around 25-30 Euros a day, even in peak season.

If you're still keen on buses have a look at http://www.cyprusbybus.com/ .

What about a taxi from Kakopetria to Troodos? Are they easy to come by in Kakopetria?

Bound to be taxi-drivers living in K... the hotel will be able to give you some numbers... but take our advice mate/matess and hire a car.

Driving on the same side of the road as GB and presumably NZ, and the driving standards are not that bad.

I can confirm that there is a bus at 1530 from Troodos Square to Limassol, now run by the new unified bus company for Limassol District, EMEL, because I have used it. The fare will be only one euro, the new standard fare for the whole system.
I know there used to be buses between Kakopetria and Nicosia before the shake up last July, and the new Nicosia district bus company is sure to be operating between these points, so if you really want to do the journey by bus, you would have to go via Nicosia.
