I can't help but think that if the money that has been wasted on these pointless turbines had been invested in 'conventional' electricity generation we'd all be a lot better off now.

Do you mean no wind or something else? :?
I got to know if we should blame God or someone else?

I suppose we should blame those that spent millions of €uros on such an unreliable power source....

Isn't it an EU direction that we should produce certain amount of electricity with renewable sources? Those wind turbines might just not be in operation yet ... maybe the project is not finished.

Maybe we should consider biofuel which is also a renewable energy source. And yes we have a lot of sh*t in Cyprus. Especially in the summer with all those tourists.

I know of at least one person who is now using a generator, as the EAC could not guarantee that some of his electricity would not come from the North.

They want us to die, but in the same time, they're keeping theyr important brains cooled....
Some more....instead of cut off electricity, there is a very easy solution (of course, for who has at least a couple of nehurons in his brain...)...simply reduce the KW delivered of a certain percentage...In this way, we will be able to use the essential electric stuffs, to work, to produce money for ourselves, and also for this country, without having surprising cut off in the meanwhile of our jobs.
But i know....this is too hard, too difficult to understand for such kind of people.

If only that was physically possible!! Unfortunately it's NOT possible, the only thing that can limit the amount of power into your home or any other installation, is the cut-out fuses or the main MCCB at the origin of the installation...

July/August reach top electrical load demand, but the situation should improve in September.
This is because the peak demand in the summer is 1000-1110MW, while in the autumn is 700-800MW, and in the winter 600-700MW.
Here's a website with detailed daily load profiles: http://www.dsm.org.cy

I believe it is... another amazing benefit of EU membership...

And now the truth is out - wind turbines increase CO2 emissions!
