GR, it's a pipeline pumping gas to Europe via Greece from Cyprus and our Israeli friends. It's a kind of umbilical cord linking Cyprus to Greece and the European mainland. Be cheerful.

A little CF scepticism wouldn't go amiss on this pipeline even if it is a Saturday night.

A few things don't sit well with pipe-line as portrayed in the map above...

The huge, mega, massive environmental damage it would cause across the whole width of Crete, the whole of the western coast of Greece, the whole length of Italy and then in to the Alps with more damage. The environmental lobby in Europe are not gonna be at all happy and who could blame them.

The cost will be huge. The abandoned Nabucco pipe-line of 2,000 mile length was budgeted at some 14 Billion Dollars. The 1700km Alaskan North Slope pipe-line, which would service the US Mid-West, is costed at an eye-wateringly cool 41 Billion Dollars.

... and then bear in mind that a few days ago Noble Energy entered in to preliminary agreements with the South Korean fabricators of all things massive at sea, Daewoo, for a floating LNG plant to service the Noble/Israeli Tamar and Dalit fields... which border the Noble/CY Aphrodite/Block 12 field.

HOUSTON, Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Noble Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NBL) announced that the partners in the Tamar and Dalit fields, offshore Israel, have entered into a Heads of Agreement (HOA) with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. and D&H Solutions AS to evaluate Floating LNG for the export of natural gas from the Tamar and Dalit fields.

From which gas would be transported by LNG ships to anywhere in the world for best price.

Re BillC, (if you remember...) I told you many days ago this pipeline would happen for whatever cost, because it is important for strategic reasons.
It unites Israel & Cyprus via Greece with the rest of Europe. That's why we need it.

Nabucco would have been a big mistake, although I am not sure it's completely abandoned.
Turkey must be isolated from the rest of the EU. IMO, it's time for a real embargo against these gypsy fools.

Not happy with natural progress GR!? You see, all those sea-journeys our ancestors made, to and fro from the Peloponnese to Cyprus - to trade, co-operate, exchange etc - where just the preparation for all this! :D

Mindful Enosis through the EU and now Physical Enosis through our bountiful mother Gaea ...

Some of us are victims of what your disgusting Greece was doing on Cyprus in the early 70s which culminated in their full-scale atrocities of 1974 PRIOR to the Turkish invasion and their subsequent atrocities!

I therefore DO NOT appreciate your gloating, insinuations, cheap shots, lies, twists, misinterpretations, and every other repulsive comment you post which serves as a constant jibe to the victims of Greek nationalism, that you seemingly enjoy.

You often disgust me and I later take pity on you due to your genuine dual nationality which is more than enough reason to be fucked in the head!

There's no cheap option by the looks of it. I guess it all depends upon the economic viability of the reserves.

On the contrary, it is you who twists and misinterprets this Island and the nature of its people. Your cheap shots at the Greek nation only absolve the real criminals, the junta - whilst indirectly insulting the majority natives of Cyprus. You should be ashamed of still reveling in your misplaced anti-Greek stance as you will become more and more marginalized from the future of Cyprus. Denying how much closer Cyprus and Greece have become over the last decades is another indicator of your falsehood-ridden state of mind.
