Are you sure that this belongs to the "sports" section?
It seems political to me. |

I think it belongs to both sports and political sections... (If the same question appeared in the political section someone could argue that it belongs to the sports section).
So Piatis, what is your opinion on this? |

| The question could easily go in the Jokes and Enigmas section of the forum. In other words, it depends on how far beyond his nose a person sees ... |

All countries have national teams. If we didn't call it national what would we call it |

Ofcouse not! What I am saying is that RoC is not a nation!
Republic of Cyprus is a State, a democratic counrty member of the UN the EU, the FIFA, etc., but itīs citicens belong to Greek and Turkish nation.
So I guess it is better to call the "Football National Team of Cyprus" as "Cyprus Team" (I remaind you that in the past, when turkish cypriots were members of this team, we used to call it "Mikti Kyprou") |

| As far as I know, Cyprus does not have just one National Team (that of football) but about 35 (this is the number of different KOA affiliated Federations). Are you suggesting that we should do away with the term "National" for all of them? This will be a god-sent gift to the pseudo state who will jump onto the opportunity to make the term theirs. What is wrong with using the term? It sounds good to me ... |
