Hi, my title deeds are finally ready. The developer who I have had nothing but verbal threats and hassle from from day one is trying to charge me ten times what I should be paying for IPT. My solicitor says that i maybe should just pay it to get my title deeds but I know he is having big financial problems and is close to bankruptcy. She says I can claim it from him after which I know will never happen as he will just disappear. When challenged he came back with another bill for the same amount but called it admin costs!!
The development is no-where near finished and much of the equipment in and around the place that we all paid for has been removed as the developer apparently didn't pay for them in the first place. There is also a big damp problem. Would it be better for me to wait and bide my time? I know I will probably not be able to sell it for at least five years with the recession.
