How can I find out more about the rules on duty free cars? I'm semi-resident in Cyprus, but work and pay tax in the UK. Do I still qualify? My wife may well be working in Cyprus; does this affect my duty free status? How does duty free work with second hand cars?
Any advice appreciated  |

Hi
If either of you work, neither you, nor your spouse, are entitled to a Duty Free car.

Hi!
According to Cyprus International Business Association (CIBA), the following groups of people have the right for a duty free car:
- Permanent residents of Cyprus of catedory F (non-working pensioners);
- Foreign diplomats staying in Cyprus;
- Repatriated Cypriots;
- Personnel of British Bases;
- Some members of Parliament and House of Representatives;
- Leaders of religious groups of Parliament
- And non-Cypriots employees of international companies (if they and their employer meet the necessary requirements) |
