Whether Pahitis accepts it or not it looks like the coalition are either setting themselves up to leave or positioning themselves to save face because the pressure is on THEM.

Turkey will get thrown under the bus.

Paphitis meant well but unfortunately he allowed his views to be dictated by a potent force, hatred for Putin and Russia.

He be the only member who made this war personal by his constant referral to OUR troops OUR rebels WE wont allow, WE will stay in Syria. He, just like everyone on this forum, is a mere observer, unfortunately he is blinded by his hatred for Putin hence his judgement is totally, to put it mildly, utterly fucked !

I must say, this threat has so much coverage and documentation of events and in a lot of cases, some good observations and assesments of the situation. Unfortunately for Paphitis, he got it all ass about face and back to front.

" Aleppo siege: Syria rebels lose 50% of territory
Syrian government troops have gained control of 50% of rebel-held areas of east Aleppo, says a military spokesman.

Gen Samir Sulaiman told the BBC he hoped all of Aleppo would be in government hands within weeks.

Gen Sulaiman was speaking a day after the army seized another district, Tariq al-Bab, from the rebels opposing President Bashar al-Assad.

Swathes of east Aleppo held by rebels have been seized by government troops and militiamen in the past three weeks"

I find it rather disturbing that a seemingly well educated man, Paphitis, would say, just less than 48 hours ago this classic:

" In other words milti, Assad has lost big time. i've been saying this for a very long time, and I have always been proven right in everything I have said so far."

Oh well ..... it looks like the terrorists are putting up a fight but unfortunately are losing the battle. I still see their complete defeat in Aleppo by year end. (This has a very good map, is up to date and can be enlarged.)

Overview of Military Situation in Aleppo City on December 4, 2016

On December 3, Syrian government forces broke the militant defence line in the northern part of eastern Aleppo pocket and secured significant areas west of the Aleppo International Airport. The Syrian army set a full control over Tareeq al-Bab and al-Myassar Jazmati neighborhoods and seized a number of points in Sheikh Lutfi. Government attacks in Seikh Saeed that the army and its allies had lost to militants few days ago. However, this operation didn’t result in gains.

On December 4, the army and its allies continued advances against Jaish al-Fatah militants in the northern and southern parts of eastern Aleppo pocket. At the same time, reports appeared that Syrian engineers are working to restore the Ramouseh-Sheikh Saeed road in order to ease troop movement and supply delivers for the advancing government forces in the area.

The Syrian military sees constant pressure on militant forces on multiple fronts in Aleppo city as an important task because this allows pro-government forces to exploit Jaish al-Fatah’s lack of manpower.

Isn't this what Turkey has been doing for centuries? What it's still doing by occupying Cyprus?

they had a good teacher the greaks are the ones who invaded lands all the way to india to the east and all the way to egypt to the south. talk of pot calling kettle black.

as to terggy and still occupying sheeprus i am afraid you got that wrong too. there is the little matter of 1960 constitution and in 1963 your pibol decided to tear it up and join greace. now that was some greacey pole into hell.

look on the positive side. you finally have a leader who actually has some common sense and may just have an agreement by mid januray. and if he was really intellegent as no peace agreement has ever been referendumised he would forget the referendum and sign on the dotted line and be done with it. with or without referendum you pibol are buggered.

enjoy
