2 Russian paramedics killed, 1 gravely injured in militant attack on hospital in Aleppo – MoD

Published time: 5 Dec, 2016 12:38
Edited time: 5 Dec, 2016 15:02

Two Russian medical specialists have been killed and another injured in a militant shelling of a mobile military hospital in Aleppo, Russia’s Defense Ministry said. An RT Arabic producer filming at the site was also injured by a shell fragment.
One Russian medic was killed immediately at the Russian military mobile hospital set up in western Aleppo, and another died later in a hospital after succumbing to her injuries, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The doctors are now fighting for the life of Russian pediatrician, who was also severely injured in the attack.

“Today, between 12:21 and 12:30pm [local time], a medical center of the Russian Defense Ministry’s mobile hospital in Aleppo was shelled by the militants during the reception time,” ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov told journalists.

Some local residents attending medical appointments were also injured during the shelling that targeted one of the field hospitals set up in the government held part of the city, the ministry added.

“One [militant] shell hit the reception ward, killing one nurse and severely injuring another one,” Vladimir Savchenko, the head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria told journalists earlier, adding that the head of the hospital was also injured.

“The hospital was far from the frontline. Now it’s totally destroyed,” Savchenko added.

The Russian Defense Ministry attributes the blame for the incident to “terrorists and their patrons in the US, the UK and France.”

“It is beyond doubt that the shelling was conducted by the ‘opposition’ militants. Moscow understands who gave the Syrian militants the coordinates of the Russian hospital right at the moment when it started working,” Konashenkov said.

“Full responsibility for the killing and injuring of our medics, who were treating children in Aleppo, lies not only with the actual perpetrators [of this crime], that is with the ‘opposition’ militants. The blood of our military personnel is on the hands of the people who ordered the hit … [on the hands] of the terrorists’ patrons from the US, the UK, France and other terrorist sympathizers,” Konashenkov said.

RT’s Lizzie Phelan reports from Aleppo that the city is subject to non-stop shelling by the militants and the hospital that was targeted was overcrowded with injured civilians, including children.

Paphitis:

Whilst you ramble on in your macho dream world of endless conquest and the astounding success of YOUR forces …… I will inject a bit of reality for you. In the mean time, keep taking the tablets and remember to do what your shrink tells you.

Map Update: Syrian Army captures 60% of rebel-held Aleppo in the space of a week

ALEPPO, SYRIA - Not a week after the major breakthrough the Syrian Armed Forces accomplished in Hnano Housing District that had them capture all the east Aleppo districts that lay north of the Al-Bab Highway, the Syrian Army would proceed to launch its second phase of the Aleppo offensive.

With no more than 500 meters separating the elite Tiger Forces at the Eyes Hospital and the garrison of the citadel, the rebels are expected to abandon their holdouts in the Old City neighborhoods north of the citadel or risk further isolation in the city.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/ma ... pace-week/

This is a bit out of date as the BBC have just announced further gains and the recovered area is now 70%. :D

The news coming in the last couple of hours is that YOUR terrorists have mortared one of several Russian provided Field hospitals, killing several paramedics and doctors. Not mentioned in the MSM as is to be expected but RT has it covered.

This SAA’s achievements are what you call progress, as opposed to.............

Winter approaches - Nearly seven weeks into the Mosul offensive, the advance on ISIS has slowed.

IS has been pushed out of more than 20 neighborhoods, but the majority of the city is still under their control. Now, the fighters’ tactics are bogging down Iraqi forces, who say they faced more than 630 suicide car bomb attacks in the first 45 days of the operation — that’s an average of 14 every day.

(Paphitis note: US coalition war crimes and crimes against humanity continue to rise ….. November alone, over 900 civilians many deliberately targeted by YOUR air forces and ground forces. There is no information available on the level of destruction! …. So much for YOUR ‘….it will be all over in a week!’ prediction)

And the civilian cost continues to rise regardless. The United Nations said there has been a “staggering” number of casualties in Iraq since the operation began. In November alone the civilian toll was more than 900 killed and a similar number injured, according to figures released by the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq. Most of those deaths were in Mosul.

Looks like you are going to get stuffed in Mosul by Daesh? Now who has ground to standstill? Will be even worse for you when the MANPADS you supplied to the terrorists in Aleppo reach Mosul.

" Army advances in Aleppo as Russia blocks UN truce plan

Government forces further push into rebel-held areas as Russia and China veto ceasefire plan for besieged Aleppo.
Three weeks into their offensive, the army and allied militias seized the Qadi Askar neighbourhood overnight and were in control of about two-thirds of the former rebel territory in east Aleppo.

"The Syrian government and its allies are now about 800 metres from the citadel ... They're now in control of about 60 percent of what used to be the rebel-controlled east," Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker said, reporting from Gaziantep along the Turkey-Syria border."

The longer this disgusting war goes on the more people being killed, children especially, innocent little souls .
The West encouraged the rebels, now it has deserted them. Perhaps its time for the coalition to declare loudly to the rebels to give up, let Syria return to peace.

As early as February 2016 : But none of this masks the fact that US policy over Syria has been a terrible failure. The blame extends to the West as a whole, but it is the US, the leader of the West to whom the world instinctively looks at such moments, that must bear the brunt of it."

" Barack Obama's policy on Syria has been a complete and utter failure

I arrived at this conclusion way back in October 2012.

This is an informative article and also has a very good detailed and enlargeable map of Aleppo as it is today. The author is an ex US military analyst and has many contacts so the info is fairly accurate. It also shows that UN demands for guaranteed safe access corridors into Eastern Aleppo before they can start moving aid to the people is not justified. The Castello Road is free and so are all roads to the airport. They need no safe corridors as all but a very small area of Eastern Aleppo is now in Government hands.

Looks like just a few days more and Aleppo will be free of terrorists. :D

" Syrian pro-regime troops have seized control of 70 percent of former rebel territory in east Aleppo, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (AFP Photo/George Ourfalian)
More

Aleppo (Syria) (AFP) - Syria's army seized key ground Tuesday in its battle for east Aleppo, capturing more districts and penning rebels in to less than 30 percent of territory they held in mid-November.

The advance came as Moscow and Washington traded barbs over stalled efforts to end fighting in the city, where forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad have made significant advances since last week."

Its almost certain that the rebels in Aleppo are facing an imminent defeat.
