Hey everyone.. I'm 22 years of age. I trade the stock market from home, very successful at what I do. I'm originally from Lebanon, lived in Canada for 11 years. I'm very fortunate because I can live anywhere in the world with high speed internet. I have travelled to a dozen countries past 2 years. I like it here in San Diego California, so I moved here. But now decided that I would like to get closer to my country of origin Lebanon. Unfortunatly the internet infrastructure in Lebanon is not that great. I have never been to Cyprus, but I hear it is very nice. I am looking to move there early next year. Would like to meet some interesting people from there. Later

Hello george! What is "high speed internet" for you? I am sure Cyprus will not be able to provide to you the same speed for the same amount of money when compared with San Diego. The usual home adsl can reach 1Mbit max but it is slower than that most of the time. If speed is very critical you will need to get the business plans which are much more expensive and can go up to 1.5Mbit. You can go faster than that but then you need leased lines and such and the cost might be prohibiting.

I contacted CypNet, they did a ping test for me to the server here in New York. Result was about 210ms, compared to 80ms here. Not the best, but good. Other than the speed, I need it to be reliable. Can't have it go down, that's not good. I did check their pricing, they are not bad.

CypNet? Do you mean Cytanet? CypNet is a company in the occupied areas and there they don't even have ADSL and the internet speed is very bad.

Yes sorry, Cytanet. Is high speed available in outskirts or just inside the main cities. I haven't decided yet where to live.. Preferably close to airport. thanks

It is available at most outskirts. Larnaca is very near the airport. 10 minutes drive. You don't need to be far from the town to be close to the airport.

Unless you are in the middle of the major towns broadband is not available from Cytanet!

We can offer a high speed connection (up to 4096K downlink and 2048K uplink) anywhere in Cyprus via satellite though.
