Hi All,
My name is manni, and I am an Australian / Greek who has just moved to Cyprus.
I am 24 years old, and have lived in Australia all my life. I have always been surrounded by my friends, so i have forgotten how hard it is to meet new people. Well, things happened and i had to leave to country for a while, and the Cypriot lifestyle suits me just fine!
I will be living in Nicosia and am wondering wheres the best place to go and meet other foreigners, or talkative cypriots?
I am easy going (like all Australians), strange sense of humour and a keen interest in Jap cars.
If anyone could point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks!
Manni |

Hi Manni and welcome to Cyprus and the forum.
My name is Erol and I am a UK/ Turkish Cypriot who moved to Cyprus (north) about 2 years ago.
I am in my late 30's and lived in the UK up till 2 years ago.
I am easy going (at least I think so) and have a jap car (but little intertest in it). My long term partner who lives with me here in Cyprus is a kiwi by the way.
If you ever feel like visiting the north and meeting people here then I would be delighted to go for a beer with you and make friendships. I realise this is not necessarily exactly what you had in mind with your post, but felt I would make the offer none the less. If you do feel like meeting then drop us a 'private message' (the forum supports these) and I'll give you my personal email and phone number. Whatever you decide to do good luck with your 'new life' in Cyprus and hopefully you will soon find yourself surrounded with many new friends here. |

Hey guys/gals
Just to let you know I am male (to answer your question marios), and am not some sort of pervert looking for those type of activities.
I am genuinely looking for new interesting people to meet.
Erloz: thanks for the offer. i will take you up on that in the near future!
Regards,
Manni |

Manni, you might find it hard making new friends in Nicosia...because the Lefkosides are a bunch of stuck up spoilt brats lol. My cousin is one of the few Lefkosiades who is down to earth and socialises in Larnaca, because it seems more to down to earth. Also, Larnaca has a large English speaking community as there are many GC who have emigrated back from the UK.
Anyway dont worry...tourist season in Ayia Napa starts soon lol. |
