Hi Theodosia, I finally heard from my friend, unfortunately he couldnt provide any info, im sorry. He did suggest that you may be able to get a birth certificate for your fathers birth which could help in your search. Best of luck to you.

Hi Bananiot

I'm new to this forum and only come across it by chance when searching for information about the village of Gypsou.

I was thrilled to see you actually mentioned my grandfather in one of your posts (Georgos Shellis). I live in the uk but have a house in Glapsides also. I make sure we visit my grandfathers grave in Acova every year and have recently put a new tomb there for him. Despite the carnage that surrounds it, it has remained undamaged in the Greek Cypriot Cemetery and for this I am grateful.

I would be most grateful to hear from you if you have time as my mother was only 8 when she saw her father murdered by the EOKA and was then whisked of to the UK. I am desperate to hear more about the village and how and why my grandfather was murdered.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
