Hi everyone
Now on my blog now "With deep love, passion, fun and sorrow", a post
on everyday life stories from hard times that had been turned into Rebetika songs.

Very interesting post. Personally I like Rembetiko/Rebetika (are they different?). It was interesting that he article describes Rebetika as very Greek. Yet the article itself describes the music with terms like '(μεράκι, κέφι, καημός) the first two being non-greek adjectives. Not sure about the third word 'καημός'. Nevertheless lovely music brought over from Asia Minor.

Is 'kaimos' a Greek word?

Is 'kaimos' a Greek word?

It does exist in Greek but I don't know its origins.

Kaim = long lasting, long standiing. Even with lateral thinking I cannot ascribe kaimos to any language but Greek.
