Turkish Cyprus or Turkiye has no dreams of invading Greek Cyprus this is completely fictioness and invented scare-mongering.

There is no "Greek Cyprus" or "Turkish Cyprus". The only state on the island is the Republic of Cyprus and we are currently in a cease fire since the day the Turkish army has invaded and occupied part of our country.

The war will end when the occupation is removed, legality restored and people are allowed to return back to their own homes.

Why should people be forced to do the army? why should people be forced to be on the front line? Why should anyone be forced to risk their lives?

On another note, would the army pay my rent/mortgage whilst they drag me into the army that I don't want to do? Would the army cover my expenses (direct debits) whilst they drag me in? Will the army guarantee that my employment at me current company will not cease whilst I am forced to do the army against my will?

Being a citizen of a country brings rights and liabilities. Going to the army is one of the liabilities.

If the citizens did not protect their own country then who would?

In countries with big population or no problems, they can have a professional army. In Cyprus we all need to soldiers if we want to have a chance of protecting our country.

What about mortgages/rent, general expences, guarantees of your employment not being affected?

Or will this end up in one long legal battle against the goverment of Cyprus?

I believe they have certain arrangements for people that are very poor and will not manage.

And what do you mean "guarantees of your employment not being affected". When you go to the army, the army is your job.

Thats where we beg to differ Piriatis. The army is a sentence, potentially a death sentence.

Consider this.

The current Cypriot army isn't realy doing anything to stop the Tukish from completely overrunning the island. It's the UN and the Turkish desire to enter the EU that is holding them off.

True?
