Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody

Postby VEX8 » Wed Feb 01, 2006 11:48 pm

To be honest with you Leonidas i do agree that historicaly the UK and the US have played a part in the shaping of Cyprus but so have so many other Countries and cultures. Cyprus was recognised for it's strategic value centuries before we came on the scene and so it has had a constant stream of invaders and liberators.

But what realy gets my goat is the simplistic attitudes of so many that post here who believe the way to solve everyones problem is to blame someone else.

I was reminded of an old joke. See if you think it fits here.

Once upon a time, there were four people;
Their names were Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody.
Whenever there was an important job to be done, Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
When Nobody did it, Everybody got angry because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Nobody would do it.
So consequently Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done in the first place.

I know VEX.
Going back to the Phinicians. (sp) One after the other country.....

But it could had been resolved IF the blaming stopped now. And IF both sides left the past behind them.

I wish I can see that happen in my lifetime.

And who insists on using the past as an excuse for even more crimes and violations of human and democratic rights today?

As far as the army goes, VEX8 and Leonidas, you better have a look at the crimes that your countries commit with their armies around the world instead of criticizing Cyprus, which is already under illegal occupation, for trying to defend itself.

They want the whole world disarmed so they can terrorize us easier. They have the biggest arsenals of nuclear weapons in the world, and at the same time they are ready to invade and destroy other countries that want to commit the crime of owning nuclear weapons to defend themselves.

How about the US and UK start by withdrawing their troops from around the world and destroy their nuclear arsenals?
