Do you like pipes, VP?

When they are burined deep in the gorund carrying our water yes but when the are blocking the traffic when Im trying to get to work no.

You would have thought all these supposed pipe work for the water coming from Turkey would have finished long time ago, already in place to carry the water as soon as it arrives. Seems to me ass-backwards, doesn't it?

Perhasps Turkey isn't sure piping water to Cyprus will work, so they want to see it happen before they throw more good money after bad on the pipes in the north!

That water is on the way all you doubters can eat your own shit......but whats going back down the alternative pipes to Turkey is a matter of debate.

Charming!
I can just imagine your table manners during dinner.

For the massive international audience who is following this very interesting thread... esp one particular person in our huge readership.

We keep hearing about pipe-work from Turkey being laid in various places on the other side of the cease-fire lines.

Pipe-work from Turkey/"trnc" ... ???

Pipes "from Turkiyeeee" being laid to replace a very leaky system, one in which up to 2/3rds of the water is lost to leaks.

Leaks which Turkey/"trnc", in their usual efficient way, have failed to invest to replace.

So, let's be clear about who is paying for this work (and it is def a big and very real and expensive project).

Turkey/"trnc" won't say who's paying for it, the press of the Occupied Areas don't identify the benefactor .

There is a silence up there as to where the money for this project is sourced from.

We cert haven't heard VP or Thicko or Halil tell us where the money's coming from for this infrastructure.

A conspiracy of silence that may be built on a hope that few will ask where the money has come from, so much so, that Turkey/"trnc" will get the credit.

The credit, the source of this money to upgrade the water distribution system, goes to the European Union.

Does that surprise any of us...???

46 Million Euros of real European Cash in a Real Project, part of the Assistance Programme...

“Asrın Projesi”nin boşuna söylenmediğini kaydederek, dev projenin 1 milyar 117 milyon TL olduğunu, 811 milyonunun suyun ihale bedeli; geriye kalan 300 milyonun da KKTC içindeki dağıtım ağı için olduğunu anlattı. (Irsen Küçük)

Wrong again. :D

Turkey isn't paying this money, you are, and over many many years to come. Talk about giving Turkey complete control to monopolize on how much she can soak you for by them controlling the tap in Turkey, assuming the water comes that is.

But the 46 million Euros from the EU is a gift.

Secondly, Turkey is not going to cut it’s own throat by supplying so much water that the north becomes self-sufficient agriculturally. No, they will still want to export their fresh goods to the north in large amounts and buy very little in return, just so that they get their "free" money back one way or the other they give you guys every month and still have it officially as a loan. Talk about the north getting screwed by Turkey coming and going.
