thats because they are so flimsy and were not designed for the purpose. do you suppose the designers of the pipes have not taken into consideration it was being floated in the sea.

first it was it could not be done it was all a dream. now it will not last. is it that hard to reinforce any part if it should show deterioration. it aint as if it is buried underground under a city and it would have to be dug up is it.

For your information plastic pipes are NEVER used as mainstreams on land. They are used as branches to the mainstream for limited distances.
Erm... no the designers did not have to consider anything in manufacturing a Hollywood video. This project will never materialize for 1000+1 reasons which equal the number of Halima's fairy tales.
What will materialize is filling up the dam at Panagra with tankers and have the water there for emergency purposes.

Lordo, I said so many times before, from the engineering point of view it an interesting project. I cannot predict if it will or will not work. What I can tell from my experience with ships is that it will require maintenance. I do not know what provisions have been made for maintenance, none have been described. The suspension depth of 250 meters is beyond diver range, divers can operate up to 600 feet with special equipment.

On the other hand there may be new ways to inspect and maintain, or they figure that the first pipe is expendable and a second improved one laid, or who knows.

What is irrefutable and as Pyro points out, is that tankers can do the job now, they could have been doing it for years, and desal would have been a TC owned and run affair. Every choice has its technical and political aspects.

i guarantee you technically it will not work. Not at such flow rates of 2 tons per second. It will explode

i like it. i do like this.

The water in Turkey is fed from a height of 130 meters above sea level so it gravity feeds across the undersea pipeline to North Cyprus where it will be pumped up to 100 meters in the Geçitköy Dam

you see terggish water behaves normally down hill.

Yes it also creates bubbles. 130+250=390m the pressure there 39 bars.... booooooom explosion

how much pressure do you put in your car tires lordo?
