All the best for another triumphant win for Hellenism.

Can Greece afford to win?

6th place for Hellas... :)

...and 1st place for the Hellenic Kingdom of Denmark! Danish: Danmark, i.e. Land of the Danaans! 8)

The Achaeans (Ancient Greek: Ἀχαιοί, Akhaioí) constitute one of the collective names for the Greeks in Homer's Iliad (used 598 times) and Odyssey. The other names are the Danaans (Δαναοί, Danaoi used 138 times in the Iliad)...

It was a really good Eurovision, very camp, very tongue-in-cheek - with only those taking it in the wrong spirit doing badly (or thankfully staying away). :) Europe is HOT!

(As a paradigm of my resignation to the over-influence of the UK in Cypriot affairs; Cyprus would do better to get closer to Greece than seek to emulate the British. )

You got to be joking, right?

Greece did alright but I thought the song was terrible. In fact, I couldn't bear to see all of them, but those that I did see were all pretty bad.

BTW, we need to get closer to Greece like a poke in the eye!

I just heard the Greek song again. Actually the Greek song wasn't too bad. Probably deserved its high ranking.

Couple of other reasonable acts as well, and some good singers. Didn't have time to see them all.

But overall, Eurovision is getting pretty trashy!

You know what they lack? Some good old solid real earthy rock music from good instrumental bands. Nothing artificial. You would see the difference if you had bands like G&R or Pink Floyd play. That's music!
