You are obviously talking about the conquest of Britain by the English. That happened relatively recently and recorded by many historians. But about the Greeks in Cyprus there is no such evidence. When people started to record history Cyprus was Greek already. And from archeology we know that the first colonists of Cyprus, the Chirokitians, went extinct before the Greeks came ... so the Greeks couldn't have any war with the original settlers of Cyprus anyway.
