the promoters of the non-profit project “Cyprus Walk of Fame” are inviting budding designers to submit their own logo and main visual for the 60cm square tiles that will be placed in an as-yet undetermined street in Limassol.
The town’s mayor, Andreas Christou, said the municipality has been discussing the project with the promoters for nearly a year and are about to finalise the street where the names and stars of Cypriot celebrities will be placed.
Project manager Stefan Bakh said that 50 Walks of Fame already exist around the world, following the first one in Hollywood in 1958, with 10 mln tourists each year visiting the 2,500 stars.
Bakh added that the Walk of Fame in nearby Haifa, Israel, is focused nly on cinema celebrities, while the Cyprus “Walk” will include all personalities.
Maxim Yashkov, Director of the Russian company CWOF Cyprus Walk of Fame Ltd., said that for each star, the project will seek corporate sponsors.
