Look at the stupid score boards, thousands of bloody runs, God knows how many wickets, you need a calculator to work out the score. Suitable for Asians surely but not for Europeans.

Cricket is a very complicated game. It is not like Football.

It is really an amazing game of intense strategy, and endurance. It is quite hard too. Imagine facing a fast bowling who fires them down the pitch and past your head at 150km/hr.

But that's not it. Fielding (slips, cover, point etc), batting (there is so much technique), bowling (where do I begin) Offspin, Legspin, etc, the sledging and concentration over 5 days.

I got into it because I played when I was younger and even had the pleasure to face Darren Lehman. :D

Amazing game!

But still, it is hard to expect the average Cypriot to get into it who has never been exposed to the game from the grassroots. First of all, it is quite a task to explain all the rules of the game. I mean, where do you begin? :?

Football you could explain in 5 minutes.

An absolute bore. A guy takes a run, throws a ball and the other tries to catch it, now what is amazing about this. Its no wonder it has not taken roots in Europe. Who invented it ?

Yes, the answer to question asked... who invented cricket... ?

It was invented by the Ancient Oz Aboriginals... who used a boomerang instead of a ball.

Ah yes, thank you P.

The game was further developed by the first Illegal English Settlers to Oz, who used empty lager cans for a ball.
