Well, if you cycle, the area's as flat as you're likely to find in CY.

Sorry bill, had a couple too many last night.
Yes, guilty of PUI (posting under the influence).

It's a debate that pops up often though.

Oh, and does anybody want to clue our guest in regarding the famous Cyprus parking?

As bad as parking is in Cyprus is much preferred to the draconian, vindictive, costly, Mafia style rules applicable in London, where if only one wheel was just over the parking lines in a municipal car park you get a bloody daylight robbery ticket costing you 60 quid.

Let us hope that Cyprus never adopts the money making legal daylight robbery schemes currently in force in London.

Yes, much of the daylight robbery going on in London with alleged parking contraventions is down to a lot of drivers who pay up without contesting these "fines" ... Contested 3 and have won 2 out of 3 so far.

... But back on- thread...

Paralimni has 2 very sad features ... A lot of the villagers are refugees from the Occupied Areas and many people from there (inc a lot of children) lost their lives in the Grammaticos air disaster of a few years ago .

Well, maybe the Cypriot Authorities and the Police should stop being as nice as they are, and start raising a lot of revenue like everywhere else.

Install heaps of Red Light Cameras, Speed Cameras, and fine every illegally parked vehicle by slugging them real hard.

Should provide the RoC with heaps of money.

Thanks again - yes Bill - something I was referring to when I told the idiot to shut up that time. Some incredible stories of resolve though. One guy we spoke to who was forced out with just a knife and fork and now owns a taverna in Protaras. Similar story with someone we met in Polis! It's such a great village though - honestly feel more at home there than in England.

You probably fell more at home there than in England because there is higher percentage of English than in England!
