Thank you to all those who supplied all relevant information - I passed on to my friend and as a result he made his way to Ledra street last night with no problems
Get Real - that is not funny because there is a market for air transport between different parts of Cyprus - if and when the airspace will allow civilian flights to operate all over the island! İmagine 10-12 seater air taxis flying people from Paphos & Limassol to Karpaz (45 mins) & Girne (25 mins) and vice-versa, for cheaper than the price of a taxi cab couple of times a day, or a dozen times at the weekends

Get Real - that is not funny because there is a market for air transport between different parts of Cyprus - if and when the airspace will allow civilian flights to operate all over the island! İmagine 10-12 seater air taxis flying people from Paphos & Limassol to Karpaz (45 mins) & Girne (25 mins) and vice-versa, for cheaper than the price of a taxi cab couple of times a day, or a dozen times at the weekends

I don’t know how that can be cost effective… the idea of servicing and refueling planes for the sake of a dozen passengers sounds like a scary business venture!

It really has to be said in a thread about buses that the situation on buses serving LCA remains poor.

Now, having said that, it is slooooooowly getting better.

... but on an island where offshore business and tourism is so important, people and visitors should be able to get on a bus at LCA and go straight to the commercial districts of Central Nic and Lim and the tourist areas of Paphos and Agia Napa without all this fluffing around changing buses.

You’ll find that the TAXI union has been a major hindrance to good bus services to and from airports etc.
