Absolute bollocks ...has anyone had a pop at T/Cypriots ..NO........it's about the cheap bastards who knowingly bought the spoils of war ....then use the supermarkets and airports this side ...personally I think they should check at the airports and borders ..free movement for Cypriots but bollocks to the foriegners ..thiis includes people living in the south buggering off for a weekend in the north . all this should be illegal.....

I don't know why the RoC doesn't issue warrants against any known carpetbagger through INTERPOL. If they enter RoC controlled areas they should be arrested and any property in the UK should be seized to compensate the refugee family whose property they are illegally using.

If Anastasiades wants to make a real BIG name for himself, then this is what he should do.

It wasn't the GCs' decision that they should bused anywhere, let alone to the wealthiest part of the island. Some big country was holding a gun to the RoC's head, as I recall.

I know B25! Hopefully, one day we get a Government with the balls to do what is necessary and even issue warrants to any politicians that do not do the right thing. There needs to be some kind of inquiry in their conduct! If they behave in this way, they are not fit for office in my opinion.

With every new Government, I am hopeful that something good will happen. So far, this administration appears like it wants to do a few things. We will see what happens.

There is a law in place I believe where if you cross the border/crossing points with any paperwork regarding property in the north ,you can be jailed .But I guess they do not enforce it.

On 20 October 2006, an amendment to the Republic of Cyprus criminal code relating to property came into effect. Under the amendment, buying, selling, renting, promoting or mortgaging a property without the permission of the owner (the person whose ownership is registered with the Republic of Cyprus Land Registry, including Greek Cypriots displaced from northern Cyprus in 1974) is a criminal offence. The maximum prison sentence is 7 years. The amendment to the law also states that any attempt to undertake such a transaction is a criminal offence and could result in a prison sentence of up to 5 years. This law is not retrospective, so will not criminalise transactions that took place before 20 October 2006.

Furthermore, documents relating to the purchase of property in the north of Cyprus will be presumed by the Cypriot authorities to relate to the illegal transfer of Greek Cypriot property and may be subject to confiscation when crossing the Green Line. Anyone found in possession of these documents may be asked to make a statement to the Cypriot authorities and could face criminal proceedings under the 20 October amendment. Any enquiries regarding the scope of this law should be made to the Republic of Cyprus High Commission in London or to the Ministry of Foreign affairs for the Republic of Cyprus:

This much we know, but the wankers this side do not enforce this law, but encoyrage the caroet baggers to use the airports and other facilities this side. May they all rot in hell.

Well, from memory, there's been one case of someone being stopped at the barricades and found with dodgy kochans. A Russian woman some years ago now. She was arrested ... and that was the last we heard of the matter.

Poor. very poor.

one question, to anyone:

if a refugee sells his land through the Property commission in the occupied areas, is it registered in the ROC's land registry? and how?
