societal, as in education, that was evident by the troops so undisciplined, and the mayhem because a young boy went to take down their flag. the question really is, how will these same troops react when it is a Turkish Cypriot who seeks to raise the Cypriot Flag higher?

...societal as in will, and what would Cypriots do, then?

God doesn't give gifts. It would show favouritism. The Greeks found and nurtured these lands for eons. A symbiosis whereby the beautiful land produced beautiful works. Now the pestilence has set in ... the devil in the shape of the turkish army.

Cyprus has a history dating back to 10,000BC! Greeks are only new arrivals compared to that!

Who cares, little man? Your ancestors departed to Australia.

Not really! I am one of the few that have gone back myself and connected myself to both Cyprus and Greece.

But I would not live or work in either permanently. No bloody way!

Neither compares even in the slightest to Australia. Very fortunate to live in the best couyntry in the world and I don't say that because I am biased or to be a smart arse. Australia offers everything from the best cities in the world, nice weather and climate, low crime, jobs, security, healthcare, free education, beaches, beach babes, sport, recreation, nature, diversity, good food, good entertainment etc etc etc. It rocks!

Oh, I nearly forgot beer and wine!
