Website Developer

Postby Transmitter_Man » Mon Dec 02, 2013 5:35 pm

We've recently advertised for a web developer intern here in Limassol with a view to taking someone onto a full or part-time salaried position after a few months however, we've not had the response we had hoped for.

As an alternative I thought I would post this here and get some feedback from the CF brain trust.

Wordpress, Magento, HTML, CSS, MySQL.

What kind of salary would you all consider fair or average for an initial 2-3 days a week (leading to full time position) from someone with reasonable experience, able to think outside the box when necessary, creative, and comfortable working on their own with input when necessary from others in the team?

Three websites, two being e-commerce based.

Thanks.

David

Based near Limassol port.

Offering to somebody with "reasonable experience" a job as an intern is not exactly an attractive proposition ;) If you can not hire somebody full time then look for a freelancer.

How much would the web developer make? Approximately?

All noted.

Frag,

That's my question to you.

What would be considered a fair and reasonable daily rate be?

It really depends on several factors like how good he is and how much experience he has. I guess due to the crisis maybe you could offer lower salaries but that would mean that your employee will leave you once he finds a better job. I' would say for somebody with a degree and no experience a starting salary of about €700 net should be good enough these days... but if he is good and you are keeping him then you should give him a raise to at least €1000 net after a few months. Somebody with 2 years of experience should not be paid under €1500 net... and it goes up from there.

Hi Sotos,

Ok, that's just the info that I wanted.

Now I have to find someone Limassol based that wants to start with a couple of days per week and work up from there.

Many thanks.
