Just seen a news report he has been badly injured in a skiing incident and has serious head injuries.

I feel sorry for his teenage son that had to witness this. Ski-ing for *fun* is stupid and clearly symptomatic of speed-freak addiction. Hope he pulls through for his son's sake.

What an utterly stupid thing to say!
You could also fall off a chair playing backgammon, and die.
How can you say skiing for fun is symptomatic of a speed freak?
Some people just prefer to lead a full and exciting life. Enriched by doing many interesting things. He's also a great horseman, if he fell off a horse, is that symptomatic of a speed freak too?
I don't like skiing, its cold and scary, I like motorcycling, its exhilarating. Each to their own, its just a tragic accident.
