And the truth by the President of the Greek Cypriot controlled Republic of Cyprus has been spoken!....here's the article from the Link above:

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE• Monday, 13 January, 2014 President Nicos Anastasiades has warned that failure to agree on a deal on the Cyprus problem could lead to the country being permanently divided.

Speaking in an interview with the daily Politis newspaper, Anastasiades also said this was the reason for his insistence for a clearly defined and mutually agreed opening statement. He said talks should not resume just because one side –or the other – are scared they will be blamed for the impasse.

The government believes there is no point in holding a meeting of the leaders of the two communities, if there is nothing substantive is agreed in a joint statement.

Anastasiades also expressed disappointment over what he described as the ‘non-objective’ stance of mediators, including that of Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer.

Mr. Downer arrived back on the island last night and will hold meetings with President Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu late Monday.

Attempts to reunite Cyprus have been ongoing for more than 35 years.

Leader of DIKO, Nicolas Papadopoulos has said talks should not resume unless their basis is made crystal clear.

So...seeing that the Talks WILL fail, pretty obvious, your leadership must either not care about the views and thoughts of the Greek Cypriot community on the ground, or knows a higher reasoning in pushing for the "Division" that will become apparent at a later stage! It goes to show, the views of the Greek Cypriots in this forum are just that - their unimportant views!

The information in that article is superseded by the recent announcements that have come out of Anastasiades visit to London.

Let's not spoil Mr H's dreaming too much by posting the joint communique issued by Mssrs Cameron and Anastadiades just yesterday.

What was it now...???

Ah yes... (the Fam Gaz version)...

"... Prime Minister Cameron and President Anastasiades reaffirmed their active commitment to a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem, which would bring political, economic, and social benefits to the island and the region. Both leaders support a settlement agreed under the auspices of the UN Secretary General, based on the United Nations Charter and the UN Security Council Resolutions on Cyprus, as well as on the principles upon which the EU is founded, for a State of Cyprus with a single sovereignty, single international personality and a single citizenship, in a bicommunal, bizonal federation with political equality, as described in the relevant UNSCRs. ... Guys, Guys, Guys.....please don't tell me that you don't know What Mr Cam and the rest of his British government delegation are doing, or should say, fooling the Greek Cypriots - it's obvious. The British Premiere's sucking up to the Greek Cypriot administration is only to secure two simply outcome(s):

(1) Make certain that the British bases are to remain sovereign and intact even though they should really, and legally, not be there under the small, fine, print of EU law.

(2) That Britain WILL have a strong hand in the Gas-Hydro Carbons venture.

Please don't be fooled into believing that Britain is signing non-important agreements with the GC-ROC because they favour them over the Turkish Cypriots.

If only you knew what his delegation says to our Turkish Cypriot delegation, or has said to us, in our most recent meeting at the House of Lords!
