Are you guys serious . Is this what your using this forum to do ,point scoring and seeing who is stronger and who has the biggest ego . Listen both cultures are proud people and there are some people that are brave and some people that are not and you will find this in all races be it greek or turkish so let's stop this nonsense . When both ethnic groups lived together the greeks were a majority and they had the upper hand in cyprus but if we compare their military might of course turkey is powerfull look at the difference in population .you can't compare even if you put Greece and cyprus together turkey's military might is huge. Just because turkey is militarily powerfull this should not give us the right to go around boasting how strong we are .there is a difference between the country's power to our own individual ego . They should be seperate from each other because the military power of turkey does not make me as a turk powerfull and the same goes for greeks . It does not matter if you win or lose as long as you are brave and you are fighting to protect your rights . There were individuals who did not fight for no one s rights when babies and children were being massacred and women being raped and murdered . These are animals and are not brave but not all greeks are like this so let's stop this ,Turkish soldiers also raped greek women and they are also animals and not brave . I can say one thing which no turk from turkey or any greek from cyprus can argue with this is that turkish cypriots did not do any of the disgusting things that both groups did so you can say this that even now when people go to both sides they all ways comment on how turkish cypriots are very warm and peacfull people . We did not massacre children or rape women but GC s and turkish soldiers did .

You did. In the 50s and 60s. And in 74 many of the crimes which are attributed to Turkish soldiers were actually committed by TC paramilitaries.

What your saing in affect is that every TC civilian was killed by their own and GC member of eoka did no killing at all? What your saying then is My great uncle who was on his way back from a wedding from Nicosia as he entered my mums village on his motorbike was actually beaten to death by a huge peace of wood by TC s. When they found him the next day dumped behind a shed door a piece of wood was imbedded into his skull. Eoka members from the town of asha did this but what your saying is TC s done this to their own. What your saying in affect also is when the village of afanya that was set alight by eoka and all the TC men were trying to take their women and children to neighbouring village it was actually the tc s that done this to their own including my mums 2 twin disabled cousins who could not get out of their beds and were burned alive. What your saying is TC s done this when actually there were witnesses seeing these animals enter the village and set it alight. Why don't you come and tell my mum this and see what she has to say and i can't be held responsible for what she might do to you. You need to realise that a lot of TC s witnessed what your people did including non eoka members who I have had many discussions with who have told me stories of what some if the eoka greeks done. There are lots of incidents that occurred but I am telling you what happened to my family.

I can't see what Boulio who started this thread is getting so excited about. The article he indicated seems fairly accurate to me. Fiercely 'patrriotic' GCs and TCs can all select bits critical of the other side. They probably will.

I've never been overly excited about being recognised or not. I might think it important if I thought I might be in line to be an ambassador, but I'm not. If being 'isolated' meant I couldn't travel abroad, couldn't phone abroad, couldn't write to other countries I might complain, but I can do all of these things.

Which reminds me ... I wonder how the North Korea thread is getting on.
