No one wants them..The do not have "wallets full of cash" ..There stingy cheap bastards who are so unbelieveably tight with there money its depressing to see..The only time they start spending is when they get drunk and want to show off..And thats when the chav shit starts..all the shouting and running around chasing chav girls in mini skirts that show there ass...They make Cyprus/greece look cheap and horrible..What sortof Upperclass tourists would want to share there time next to chavs puking everywhere and screaming football songs while walking down the streets half naked?! admit it..Its scummy..and embarrasing..It makes everyone feel cheap!

Also Greece and there inflated prices are crazy!! Who on earth do they think they are...? Paris?! nooo..They need to learn that greece is not paris and does not deserve to double even triple the prices on everything..There asking themselves everyday.."Why dont we have as many tourist as we useto..Why aren't we making as much as money anymore?"...Well let me enlighten you...Because you fucktards treat the tourists like shit..Hounding on them to buy things and charging them CRAZY prices..Helloooooo..Your PUSHING them away...The tourists/chavs..are learning that it aint so cheap anymore..and the Greedy Greeks are Taking ADVANTAGE!

Its so effing obvious!

Hope I never piss you off. You're quite scarey!

Though I agree with everything you said there!

I went up to Napa on Saturday to see my son (not a chav BTW) and his 17 mates, out there on hols.
We walked down the street and it was crowded with young Brits on hols. Don't see how anyone can say they are staying away, the pavements were chocker with them.
Not my sort of place though, but seems still a favorite with the young kids

there is an old saying albeit for peoples characters but i think it applies to this.. 'you are what you attract', and i think Napa has done just that, offer low class entertainment and you get low class people, how many chavs do you see at the opera in Paphos?.. Unfortunately its been about money and not quality in Cyprus, and the sooner it defines itself and the tourist industry has something to offer thats not a rip off or low class, then the market will improve and with it will come parks art and beauty but the Cypriots have got to change and appreciate the finer things before money at all cost takes more of a back seat..

Nah, Blackpool is for young piss heads on the lash not Napa.

I blame the Cypriots for letting there small village develop this way. If they weren't greedy from the start, it wouldn't have turned out like this.

Hey Simon, I wouldn't say that it was because the Cypriots were greedy, after the invasion the economy wasn't too good in Cyprus, so they had to bring in the tourists, as they'd lost most of the best beaches and holiday destinations, for eg, Kyrenia, Varosha/Varosi, they developed Agia Napa and protaras because they have great beaches, etc so they had that potential...Although they did go about it the wrong way.....

The thing I find sad that is happening in Ayia Napa at the moment is, with the prices rising so much, yes we are loosing the CHAVS but we are also loosing the families. I like most would be glad to see the back of the chavs but working in the car hire business for the second season now i have noticed that im not getting those nice families in. When i do all i hear is them say your cheapest car for one day! If Napa keeps striving to be upper class, small businesses will close down, the ones that rely on the families and chavs that seem to have the same spending bracket. Prices are not only rising for tourists but us poor buggers that live here, i wish the wages were rising too! Ayia Napa and protaras are on a beautiful part of the island and have so much to offer everyone, and its all going down hill cos no one can afford to come here. There is nothing for the high class so they wont come either so eventually at this rate there will be nothing for anyone and we can say bye bye tousists. If Ayia Napa wants to attract a different class of ppl the transition would have to be slow or everyone will loose out. Is it not better to have a 1000 chavs than only 100 high class spending their money?

The last 8-10 years Greed HAS overtaken any thoughts of treating tourists decently , And I include both British and Cypriot proprietors in this statement. For 20 years after the invasion tourism was built up at a great pace in the Ayia Napa area but during that time visitors werent being ripped off in the way that they are now. The way things are going with families staying away and even the young singles turning thier backs then soon there will be far more beds than tourists to fill them.
I know what I'm talking about here I've been in the hospitality industry for 30 years and the bubble is bursting.
My working time is spent 50/50 between Blackpool and Cyprus I've seen the way Blackpool is going in the UK (The largest seaside resort in Europe) with visitors down 50%, No families coming and the town a no go area at night because of stag and hen parties.
Something needs to be done in Napa to bring the 'decent' tourists back before its too late and it goes the same way as Blackpool.

Incidently why should i have to pay £2-3 for a cup (Paper) of instant coffee on the beach in Ayia Napa when I can sit in a modern cafe bar in Nicosia with polite waiter/ess service and have a frappe served in a nice glass on a clean table for the same (if not cheaper) price.
