Turkey accepted the joint statement in Eroğlu's name

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes, it looks like Eroglu has been sidelined. Also, the TC's chief 'negotiator' Ertug reportedly offered to resign two months ago as he did not accept the concept of single sovereignty. He was persuaded by Eroglu to stay on. But now Ertug has gone and been replaced by Ozersay who is more amenable to Ankara.

So Ertug and the TC 'leader' are out of the equation. Negotiations are being conducted between Ankara and Nicosia, as they should be, missing out the TC leadership altogether.

Actually much more important allegations came to us on the Cyprus issue. [They are] in the direction that Eroglu is no longer part of the process! That he is staying at the duty of ‘negotiator’ only for the show and the actual negotiations are held between Davutoglu and Anastasiades. That is, exactly like the Greek Cypriot side wanted! …In my view, Eroglu is continuing his duty as negotiator only for the show at the moment, but together with the inclusion of Ozersay in the staff he will be fully neutralized and Ozersay will lead alone the negotiations with the great support of Ankara, as it was happening in the past…”

What difference does it bloody make which fucking stinky Turk it is you’ll be “negotiating” with?

What does our country really think it can ever achieve by negotiating with the illegal occupier?

You mean something like this…

Burglar: “I get to keep two of your bedrooms and one of the toilets!”

Victim: “Ok, but I get to use that toilet on Saturdays between 8am and 4pm”

Burglar: “Well only if I get to park in your garage over the weekends.”

This is fucking ridiculous! Pick yourselves up you fools the lot of you and quit tolerating absurdities which only encourages criminals to keep shoving them in your face!

It’s because you ain’t got any respect for yourselves that’s why…

Fancy discussing whether it's going to be IslamoTurkoShit #1 or IslamoTurkoShit #2... like it makes any difference! Honestly...

Bloody hell, GR. How many times on this forum have you said that community talks are well and truly over and the only talks in future should take place between Cyprus and Turkey? Well now you have direct talks between Nicosia and Ankara and instead of feeling vindicated, you complain about it!

Our GR... also look at things this way...

The enemy in the Occupied Areas are running around like Headless Chickens at the mo as Davutoglu, through contacts with the Republic and the Americans, has pulled the rug from under their feet.

Eroglu sidelined, Donktosh Jnr sidelined. Neither of them happy with the Agreement. Both going along with it for what is described as "show".

Talat gone in to hiding... presumably as the new prince in waiting again.

A divided enemy is an enemy closer to going tits up.

Will the Joint Agreement really get to a settlement...??? Past experiences (and there have been enough of them) say that it will fail but if we go along with it, what it may achieve is to reset the parameters back in the Republic's favour... (and so much of the Draft Agreement has been the work of the Republic. None of it came directly from the Illegal Regime who were clearly kept out of the loop... brilliant!!!

Yes, but I wasn’t talking about time wasting banana state talks.

I was talking about these kind of talks…

cyprus36832.html

It was the perfect timing to engage the desperate Turkish government.

I’m fed up with our government wasting our time and tax payer’s money with Turkish banana-state talks that they know very well will NEVER come to pass because nobody on this side of the roadblock is suicidal enough to accept them.

Well, maybe Bananiot is the only exception who would find such proposals “generous”.

Our government should start concentrating on the DOABLE and not Turkish fantasies that are bound to get rejected every single time.

My proposal above is a very doable comprehensive solution where everyone wins and stands the best chance of majority approval.

Yes, the final document clearly very carefully worded by the international team of legal specialists hired by the Republic so that it locks in the talks around sovereignty, indissolubility and the continuity of the Republic. Also very important the references to the EU acquis. As an aside, I note that the EU Commission is going to appoint their own representative to participate in negotiations so that any outcome is in full accordance with EU law.
