Congratulations gorgeous George and astute Amal on your marriage. :D

Now, on with the return of the Parthenon Marbles ...

The human rights barrister Amal Alamuddin Clooney flew into Athens on Monday amid hopes that, as she begins advising the government on its bid to reclaim the Parthenon marbles, it will be with the full force of Hollywood behind her.

The Anglo-Lebanese lawyer wades into the west’s longest running cultural row at noon on Tuesday when she meets the Greek culture minister, Kostas Tasoulas, for talks in his sixth-floor office.

There, with the two QCs Geoffrey Robertson and Norman Palmer, both experts in cultural restitution, she will discuss how Greece can best pursue its claim to win back the treasures, widely seen as the high point of classical art, from the British Museum.

you should take comfort from the fact that if they were not taken away, they would have been ruined like the rest of athens and its smog.

You mean they would have been destroyed by the Turks. You love destroying the cultural inheritance of other countries like Cyprus for instance.

I think the decision has already been made to return the marbles, this is all a huge publicity thing...

Really? Do you have any evidence for saying this? Because, if that were the case, there would be a lot of politicians with egg-on-their faces from what they said just 2 days ago. Not least of all Boris Johnson, Turkish Mayor of London and soon to be Turkish Prime Minister of Great Britain, was quite adamantly holding on to his Turkish-enabled stolen gains.

I'm speculating, it's either the marbles are being returned or Clooney is making a Greek themed movie.

And you've definitely lost your marbles.

Another British argument crumbles ....

"Greek prime minister says loan of statue from pillaged frieze puts end to British Museum argument that disputed antiquities are immovable"

http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign ... ssia-elgin

After receiving it, Russia should return the statue to its rightful place in Athens and show those idiots in charge of the British Museum that you do not KEEP stolen goods!
