Anyone knows if i could have an electricity meter with a card or any other type of security? As the house is only use as a holiday home. Thank you.

Not that I know of… but have a look at these meter cabinets… they have a glass view window that allows viewing the meter displays while the cover is closed.

So the idea is that you switch off your mains before you leave the country and then lock or padlock your cabinet without depriving the EAC officer from taking any readings in your absence.

You can also have a message on the cabinet like:

“EAC staff requiring access inside this cabinet please call… "

EAC have their own locks which you can purchase from their Main Offices (I believe) and fit to the meter cubicle. EAC have a master key and you have a key that is specific. They will not accept you fitting an personal lock as they MUST have access at all times. The cost I believe is €15, what their charge is for fitting it I have no idea. This lock is now mandatory on all EAC meter boxes ........... they have just not told anybody!
