Perhaps if EVERY foreigner was to fuck off their country they’ll stop blaming and complaining, and I dare them all to put that to the test!

You'd empty North London of Cypriots!

It's not a "complex" when their worst fears have been realised and a third of the population have had their properties stolen by Turkish Cypriots.

Face it. GCs never feel they are at fault for anything. Not even when they staged a stupid coup that all but said to Turkey 'Come on over. please'.

And why are TCs so obsessed with blaming everyone else? When in fact, TCs are the ones who demanded partition and even - till NOW - greedily hold on to the legally, rightful properties of a third of the countries population?

Seems, it is the TCs who are obsessed with talking about Turkey whenever the facts point to TCs being the thieves!

...again, i would like to remind the readers that there is a big difference between "Greeks" and those who are Greek, in Cyprus. let us remember that the coup failed because it had no support, Cypriots indeed are not "Greeks", nor may i add, are "Turks" anything like the Cypriots whose origin are Turkish. if anything, those that are obsessed are those in denial, and who continue to spout hateful thinking that remain ignorant of these facts.

The coup succeeded but they fled like cowards once they heard of the Turkish military arrival and it was up to the Makarios supporters once again to recuperate and head north to fend the second invader off.

:? You don’t know what you’re talking about!

There wasn’t enough time for the coupists to hold a popularity referendum because once they militarily removed the government from office and began “laying down” the law the Turks invaded so they only lasted a week in power.

Militarily they had enough popularity to defeat the government forces and its supporters.

In fact if you check the casualty figures of the opposing sides they have exactly the same number of dead… just under 100 each.

I’d say the country was split right down the middle.

...if it had had the popular support it would not have failed.

It's your lack of knowledge that fails.

A coup d'etat's success is measured only by its ability to replace the existing government period. There was no time for a popularity contest during the 5 days it reigned for the Turks had landed on the western outskirts of Kyrenia and the puppet government folded.

Here's the video of the coupists taking over the TV/Radio station and announcing their victory and the laying down of the “law”…

When you take over all government positions and announce the victory and new state of affairs over the country’s sole radio station, that is a SUCCESSFUL coup... albeit short-lived in this case.

Sometimes I wonder what the hell I’m doing in a forum where regular contributors who claim to be “Cypriots” don’t even know the basics of what happened in 1974! :?

WTF! :?
