Statement from the Press Office of the CY Republic of North London...

The views of Mr Windsor are not necessarily shared by us other Charlies.

Eimai Paphitis oxi Aglos.
I utterly condemn this cruel and illegal practice carried out in order that some pseudo connoisseur may enjoy a so called delicacy consisting of a few grams of meat. Why on earth can we not ever accept any constructive criticisms directed against some nauseating "cultural" practice like the slaughter of ambelopulia.

Let the birds fly and give pleasure to those who enjoy natures other inhabitants in their natural environment and not on the plate of some "mezegli" who should indulge in the art of eating ameletita instead.

Cruel practices exist elsewhere in the globe, we can not however excuse what clearly is happening on our island by pointing out that other nations also carry out cruelty to birds and animals.

Oh but it's NOT happening on *our island* ! Haven't you read the article? It's happening on Prince Charles' SOVEREIGN territories!

The message here is precisely the same as always - the nasty Cypriots are barbaric and the Royals have to protect their sovereign areas from us!

Hundreds of posts in that last thread and not an OUNCE of evidence that Cypriots actually "invade" Prince Charles' Sovereign Bases to set up mist-nets/lime-sticks - right under the Brits' noses for goodness sake!

What a load of BS! That is not the message at all.

Britain is a friendly country to the RoC not an enemy.

And if we were clever, the RoC could have benefited a great deal from their presence.

Today, there are 26 countries looking for the lost MH370! This has been a great example of how countries can come together, and help each other. Right now, there are Chinese Aircraft at RAAF Pearce. That amazes me. Life long friendships and bonds are developing.

The creatures, familiar to millions of British gardens, often suffer for hours after being illegally snared in nets or on glue-coated sticks, before being killed and served up as a delicacy in Greek restaurants for £65 a plate.
In a private letter seen by The Mail on Sunday, the Prince has taken the highly unusual step of writing to the most senior Army commander in Cyprus, as well as to the island’s president, condemning the ‘industrial scale killing’. Charles claims that it is big business, run by ‘serious organised criminals’

That's rich coming from an adulterer that wanted to be the Tampax to his tart, whilst he was married to an innocent young girl.

Hypocrisy at its highest.

I don't think she was that innocent...

The interesting point is the old news yooloser posted all shows legal action by the state against those engaging in illegal acts involving animal cruelty. Yes it goes on, but something is done about it....bit better than in Cyprus where recently one organisation accused the government of a coverup to protect illegal bird trappers.
