Two Brave Greek Women Taking Down "golden dawn"

Postby bill cobbett » Sun Mar 23, 2014 10:16 pm

Working under armed guard for the past six months Greek judges, Ioanna Klapa and Maria Dimitropoulou, have been compiling a damning 15,000 page indictment in to the criminal activities of the Nazi Thugs of "golden dawn".

Aaahh ... the irony of the paper that wants to be viewed as the most Liberal showing its fascist fangs once again ... and brought to us by their stool pigeon man in drag. :P

"For a party that is so macho and militaristic, it is an irony of history that two women should now be in this role."

Typical of the condescending pseudo-liberal Guardian!

Didums, still in the stone age ...

After trawling though computers confiscated from the far-right party's leaders, examining witnesses and wading through thousands of videos, pictures, speeches, documents and blogs, the court officials have compiled a 15,000-page dossier outlining why they believe Golden Dawn is a criminal organisation.

Yeah right.
Nobody in Greece is that meticulous concerning the welfare of the country.
Nobody cares, unless it's for personal gain.
What's the catch ladies?
Or is the Gaurdian selling us another shiny apple?

Whilst I do not agree nor support GD, I must protest against these kangaroo court proceedings.

This now seems the norm. As soon as there is a political party or movement that goes against the grain of the real fascism taking grip, and against the social narrative, we see convictions, race wars and violence on the streets.

Whilst I don’t support GD, I do support their right to exist and represent their supporter base.

We are witnessing the death of democracy and freedom all over the world.

I can’t agree with the political vilification of groups such as GD.

It was ok to oppose them. I still do oppose them. I don’t wish to support any extreme, groups like this at a political level. But as their opponents, we must oppose them with civility and good arguments against their policies and values.

Plus, they seem to have the toughest policies on borders and immigration, something I support as its vital for the survival of Greece itself.

What I don’t like and can’t support is the vilification of GD or any other political groups in Greece. I would have the same stance with other groups too. It’s an issue if Democracy for me and political rights for me. I see the world taking very ugly turns lately.

Seems to me that now whenever we disagree with a political movement we brand them certain names and box them into certain categories.

Not just GD but look at Trump and who is next? Le Pen?

I would really like to know what laws they broke. What makes them criminals? I’m not jumping on the band wagon because politics have taken a very ugly turn these days to the detriment of democracy. I think democracy is worth defending even if it means defending the right of people I disagree with to have a voice. It comes down to human rights for me.
