His plan is to build a university in the buffer zone that will teach propoganda in Greek, English and Turkish. also to build a park where children from both sides can meet and play to understand each other but have seperate apolitical spheres across the divide. And to lift the embargoes.

He wasted 25 minutes of my life listening to him and probably irritated many others too.

Felt the same about your president at the LSE. Never felt like throwing flares or disrupting his speech though..

You may have felt he was wasting your time, but you knew the content of his speech was good and fair - unlike Talat's.

And now the Archbishop says that ELAM should be stripped of Party Status.

Don't praise the Archbishop, from his about turn on a number of issues recently it is obvious the Government have got something on him!

So you are happy with accepting ALL the high level agreements and the promise of a costly LNG plant?

Yes, but despite what the fascist eoka-B supporter Toffoui tries to convince us of above, "elam" ain't a reg'd political party, according to the AG...

Here is a report from inCyprus in which we also learn that the AG is insisting on prosecuting these buggers. ...

"... NICOSIA – Attorney General Costas Clerides on Thursday lodged an appeal before the Supreme Court against the release of three members of far right organisation ELAM following their arrests in connection with a violent demonstration last month.
According to the announcement by the Legal Services, police are continuing to investigate the suspects and other individuals over their alleged involvement in a violent brawl with police outside a cultural centre in Limassol that disrupted a speech by former Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat.

The AG also clarified that ELAM is not a registered political party as its original application for party status in 2010 was rejected by the Ministry of Interior for failing to meet requirements.

Former police chief Michalis Papageorgiou was ordered to step down from his position following criticism over the police handling of the demonstration. ..."
