Then, Elgin pillaged one of the six famed, ethereal Caryatids that adorned the Erechtheion Temple on the Acropolis. He propped her up in his wet, damp and murky garden ... and then sold her into slavery where she is stared at daily by the ignorant and the few spiritual souls who wish to see her re-united with her sisters - sisters weeping for her safe return.

It takes about seven months to cleanse each of the larger than life-sized statues, which were carved around 420 B.C. Work began in 2011, and is expected to be finished in June.
