Based on what Paphitis, your fantasies?

Based on the quality of players and the standard of the A League which is far superior to the Greek and Cypriot First Division.

Also based on the fact that there are Australian Players in just about all the pro leagues of Europe. Over 300 in fact and some are worth a shitload and play in the top leagues such as EPL, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Turkish Leagues etc

Also based on the fact that the Australian Team do not play as many games. When they do, they mix it with the best of South America, Asia and Europe and have won a lot of games against top quality opponents such as Brazil whereas Cyprus would get hammered all the time.

Also based on the fact that I do not believe Greece has the mental toughness to play against Australia and survive.

Also based on the fact I believe that Australia would defeat many countries ranked higher, including the US and Greece.

Just as I suspected… hallucinations!

Now I’m gonna introduce you to a different kind of ranking… the league rankings where Australia’s league wouldn’t even rank 100th!

As you can see, even though our national team sucks, our league is pretty good.

No hallucinations at all!

The Australian A League is fully professional.

The teams are consortiums. It also attracts so e if the best players on the world.

I am talking about a player that even plays for Italy and Argentina.

Sorry but the A League is a lot better than Cyprus.

Let me also give you another top. The US League and J League, none of which are even mentioned in your stats, are also far superior to the the Cypriot and Greek Leagues.

I’m afraid not mate…

So as you can see the Cypriot league is well above the Japanese, American and Australian football leagues, despite all the shitloads of money the first two have poured into it!

I couldn't even find Australia in the table... :?

It's not! You're hallucinating now.

The budgets are huge in Australia. They attract the best players even AC Milan players on loan, including such names as Messi. In fact, the clubs are co owned by the biggest clubs of Europe.

The Australian National team has to play at the MCG in front of 100,000 spectators usually.

A League games regularly attract crowds of 40,000. Even the bottom teams can beat the top teams because everything, including the money is evenly spread.

Sorry Get Real, but you're in lala land!

All the teams are full time professional now. Contracts are signed worth millions just for individual players. Business and corporations fund the consortiums and franchises. Some are even owned by teams such as Manchester United hence why Manchester United comes to Australia to play against Australian sides. The also poach the best players. In fact, they use Australia as their nursery.

And btw, the A League is ranked in the top 20 and higher than Cyprus.

The J League is another that is ranked very high.

Here is another site that shows the top 20 leagues in the world.

Australia is in the top 20, but Cyprus and Greece don't even rate a mention?

Right, so FIFA, UEFA, and the IFFHS don't know what they're talking about then... ok.

Look, I’m not interested in your Australian junk links because rankings are not a matter of opinion and surveys, but of a vast array of STATISTICAL DATA calculated by those authorized such as UEFA, FIFA, etc.

So my opinion, your opinion and that of Joey the kangaroo, is of no relevance in these matters.

So you can tell your Australian sheep-shagging mates who wrote those junk articles that’s not how we do things in Europe and that there are official bodies for determining statistics not the Melbourne Star’s survey!

The problem is you did not use uefa links. You looked so hard and came up with dodgy non credible sources whereas I find dozens of links that has the A League in the top 20.

Another fact is that the Cyprus League is not fully professional whereas the A League is. They also have World Cup standard stadiums (they plan to host it) and that includes the bottom teams.

To get in you have to be financial and they get some money from tv rights and gambling.

Sorry but there is no comparison. Maybe the Cyprus First Division is on par with the NSW Second Division.

Oh and I nearly forgot! Australia qualified for the World Cup and has a World Cup history and heritage.

Hopefully we will see Cyprus there one day, and play Australia!

One more thing bozo!

Australia, US and Japan are not members of UEFA. That is the reason why they do not appear on your UEFA link. All are in the top 20 and are far superior than Cyprus!

Who do you think you're kidding?
