Now Noosa was a most incredible place. I wish I could just stay there and do nothing but trek through the National Parks and just be an out and out beach bum vegetable. But my son and daughter were up, so I took them to Warner Bros Movie World and Seaworld on the Gold Coast. Bloody expensive but the twins really had a ball, and so did I aside from the exhaustion which was taking its toll.

Anyway, last night, I was driving around the Gold Coast, around Mermaid Beach looking for a restaurant to eat out and came across a fine Turkish Restaurant. Being an inquisitive type of person, I look up their website and read their menu and notice that they have a number of Cypriot Dishes. So I do a U Turn and back I go to the restaurant.

Turns out that the owners were Cypriots (TCs) from Limniti. I order meals for myself and the children - a Banquet Meze and a nice Australian Wine.

Began some chats with the owner and eventually invited him over to my table and we broke bread together and drank some more wine.

Really nice family and the food was fantastic, especially the Sheftali and Grilled Halloumi was divine. The food just kept coming.

The highlight was the Paklava and Cream Kataifi with candles to celebrate my twins birthday. So glad I managed to be with them on their 4th.

This evening, the twins were on a QANTAS flight back to Adelaide. Yes they do travel on their own (they are only 4) and they are clocking the frequent flyer miles. :D

I did my bit for peace and reconciliation. But seriously, the restaurant was FANTASTIC, food was very CYPRIOT, GREEK and TURKISH, and the nice TC family (parents and son) were very classy and distinguished people as far as I was concerned and we had a great little parea going.

Love Turkish food.

I wonder how many times they gobbed in your food when they realised you were a rum.

Is that what they do to us when we visit Greek/GC restaurants? One of my favourite restaurants is Vrisaki. I am very close to the owner and his waiters. I have been eating there since the early 90's, am I now to suspect they have been doing this all along? Would you spit in anyones food? How warped and sick one must be to do that to anyone regardless of their race, colour religion? Come on B25, you cant be that bad, can you?

How bad is spitting in someone's food compared to the demand for apartheid and then ethnically cleansing, evicting GC's from the northern third of their country and stealing their business' and property because of their race/colour/religion or whatever? How warped and sick one must be to do that?

If the TC's can do that, lie and believe that they are justified and right in their criminal backwards behavior occupying Cyprus, they can spit in your food without a second thought.

Shame really I think this, because I like Turkish food too and it is a thought that keeps me away from dining or being parted with my money to a Turk, full stop.

I feel I'm in very unpleasant company now so its good bye from me for a while. Just before I leave I'd like to ask. If a handful of GC's and TC's can't behave and debate in a mature civilised manner on a forum then how is this ever going to be achieved nationwide?

As for spitting in peoples food? I wouldn't/couldn't do that to anybody for all the tea in China.

Don't worry about this immaturity MR-from-NG.

Maximus' and B25's posts were uncalled for in this thread. Just ignore it.

Personally, I don't even believe the TCs I had the pleasure of sharing a table with are even capable of such stupid and disgusting thoughts.

Very nice people, and that made the meals even better. There is nothing more better good company, good food and good wine and everyone just generally being very happy.

Yes, I have been to Greektown, in Montreal. :D

Why?

You tell me when we have these "realities and facts on the ground"? What's uncivilized about this debate then?

you was caught lying before when you said that you would never dabble in stolen GC property but another forum member exposed you.

Good day to you...
