it is always interesting to compare the media of the north with the south just to see how free they are. here is a meeting of the progressive elements of both sides making a joint statement for peace in cyprus. i wonder how many media elements from the non-liberated lands have actually reported on this. and yet here is the most hated supposedly anti-cypriot media bayrak reporting it.

...my guess is that Lordo judges Freedom of the Press, by the coverage of Labour groups (and it was reported, Cyprus-wide).

Frankly what is more important news is ignored; does anyone know if you are allowed to fly the Flag of Cyprus north of the Green Line?

...and for that at least the media in the south, as you like to call it Lordo, does not have the same abilities to gather news, on the other side if you will; it would be a great incentive if the news in the occupied territories was as diverse as you claim it to be, there is only one News reporter (let alone Cypriot), that reports the news in both communities, and as i recall you disparaged Sener Levant in the last elections, as a Communist and a clown.

to criticise the Media, in Cyprus, i can accept. to make it something hateful, "Greek"/"Turkish", is a big disappointment coming from you because i know you know better.

not hateful at all rw. simply wanted to know if it was covered by anybody in the south. as i pointed out bayrak with all its right wing angle managed to cover it.

btw this is not about southern media covering something in the north, some of the people in the picture are gc.

sorry Lordo, i am touchy because i am very disappointed that the couple defending themselves for flying a Cypriot Flag in the north has been left completely ignored.

this event, the one you ask about, was covered, as i said, but will you help me, the case i want to know about was delayed...till when?

rw there is no law in the north that prohibits an individual from flying the cyprus flag. they can go to court a million times the result is the same. unfortunately there is an overzealous prosecutor who is playing silly buggers. the cost of these proceedings will bite him in the ass sooner or later. i have no idea why it was postponed or to when.

when you say ignored, no amount of effort will make any difference to these two people. the government is not legally recognised and hence cannot challenged. and of course we have the roc to thank for that.

it may be a bit of an inconvenience to the brave couple but this is a matter of stand point and they will win their case in the end no matter how long it takes the prosecutors to stop being stupid.
