Vourka is that pair-shaped leather bag that shepherds hang over their shoulder.


But the word spelt with an “F” like you have, means nothing.

Hmm... no relation with "fury" or "furia" in GC dialect? It is said that in TC dialect it means something very much or a lot in numbers... fro example the Φούρκα of figs...

GC linguist Yangullis suggested these words: η φούρκα: οργή, θυμόσ

and when i type in google Φούρκα+cypriot, several good blog pages about Cypriote Gree come out as a result but they are in Greek...

Thanks B25.. actually the word means something on up-trend... that's why it's a lot in numbers....
